Title: Creation: Fearfully and Wonderfully made I
Medium: Mixed Media on Hahnemühle Cotton Paper: Watercolour pencil, Oil paint
    Size: 800 x 600mm
Artists thoughts: Plalm 139: 13-14 This work depicts a small figure study of a young woman, enclosed within a gooseberry hull that symbolizes the womb. This is not the birth of a baby, but the spiritual rebirth of a human being. The gooseberry hull is ‘woven’ with the greatest of care. It is also transparent – holding within it its precious fruit. So, the human being must become fruitful in her life and also be transparent (honest and true) in everything she does. Around the drawing, I wrote the words: ‘Fearfully and Wonderfully made’ in large, cursive letters. These words formed shapes in the background that was ‘woven’ into the artwork, using monochrome oil paint. We were fearfully and wonderfully made.
